Bunnies for fashion?

Hey guys! Not blogged for a while thanks to a mass overload of college work so I do apologise. However, I am now back and ready to write and, hate to say, my first comeback post is one hell of a rant..

It recently came to my attention, thanks to my facebook and twitter feed, that some companies in the fashion industry have been linked into animal cruelty. In particular, the angora rabbits. For those who are unaware, brands, such as Topshop, have been selling angora products created in China which were manufactured through abuse rabbits and literally tearing the fur off of the animals.

The company PETA secretly recorded Chinese workers as they pluck the poor animals while they scream in pain. How on earth can ANY human even do such a thing. Animals are living things too y'know, how would they like it if they had all of their hair plucked out while no one gave them any sympathy?! Outrageous

Thinking about it, the amount of videos that have come out of China demonstrating animal and human abuse is so disturbing. How can these people lack such empathy in other beings is beyond me. Sick, totally sick.

What irritated me the most was that brands, such as Topshop, for whatever vile reason refused to stop selling these products. Erm, I'm sorry. Coming from the brand who has size 0 models in the window and already has a bad enough image, you want to bring animal cruelty into the works..? Anyone would think the company doesn't want to sell their products. However, due to a mass overload of outrage, Topshop were one of the latest companies to say no to the product, whereas, companies such as H&M were one of the first to stop these products being sold in their stores.

I officially own the most awesome shirt in the world...

Hey guys! So, I've been looking online for more clothes recently as I'm a girl and forever in need of more clothing. Then I came across the most awesome shirt I have ever seen. My friend in America posted a picture of her new flip T-shirt (apparently this is a new craze) and I had to ask where she got it from. Turns out Amazon sells some awesome things, so I had a quick glance and there it was. The shirt.

Lets be honest, how awesome is this shirt?! My mind was set and I bought it instantly, how could I not? Arrived the other day when I was at placement. Came home and my brother simply said 'there's some post for you', and there it was wrapped up waiting for my. Within minutes, I ran upstairs and changed my shirt simply to show it off.

Of course, I wore it to college the next day and pretty much flashed the sloth at my entire class. Laughs were had that day! Such an awesome shirt and Amazon have a whole range of flip T-Shirts I could so easily buy and recommend, but you'll have to check them out yourselves. If I go on there, I'll buy another one and there's only so far my wages will stretch!

'You must follow the fashion in the media...'

Hey guys! I’ve been asked to write a guest blog for my dearest best friend so I shall try and do her some justice as her blog is bloody amazing. For those reading from my blog, visit her page:
For those reading from her blog, come visit me sometime

Now, I notice her blog is all about fashion and, if you’ve ever met me you’ll know, I’m not exactly the biggest fashion fan. Obviously, everyone has their own style and taste. But I find that’s down to the person themselves.

People idolise celebrities and other figures in the media and spend their lives determined to be like them. However, as time goes on, we move on from certain celebrities and begin to idolise new ones more to our new found taste or preference. For example, a few years ago, so many young girls idolised Miley Cyrus. She had the long hair that so many girls want, the amazing figure and the gorgeous looks. However, look at her now. The short hair that not so many girls want, still has the amazing figure but definitely lost the looks. In terms of her clothing, she used to be such a style icon. Now, she is the embarrassment of the MTV VMA’s after wearing virtually next to nothing. Who wants to look like that?! Not what every girl aspires to be.

Looking at my own style, I can’t say I idolise anyone in particular… However, the way I dress is far from unique. A lot of the people I look up to have such wacky and unique fashion styles. Me, I go for the comfort option. This usually consists of: black skinny jeans, black converses or vans, and a shirt of some sort – e.g. band shirt or just any vest top I can find that is suitable for whatever the day brings!

Personally, I base my style on people like Taylor Jardine (singer from We Are The In Crowd). I find her style so laid back and comfortable. She showed me that you don’t have to go out and buy the latest fashion to feel comfortable in your own skin. You wear what you want to wear. Who cares if you’re not wearing the newest fashion or rocking the latest trends?! I don’t leave my house every day in order to please every person I walk past. If I get the odd ‘hey, nice shirt’ or ‘I love your shoes’, great! If not, that doesn’t matter to me.

It’s better to be yourself rather than someone you’re not because, at the end of the day, it’s only yourself you have to impress.
