DIY Polaroid Heart Collage

'Print your memories' - Cheerz (formerly known as Polabox)

I recently decided to get a whole load of my pictures printed, but I didn't want the boring normal 6x4 or 7x5 print - I wanted to get them printed like polaroid pictures. I didn't really want to invest in a polaroid camera or printer, simply because they cost so much in the long run.. Buying all the films etc and the camera/printer itself isn't exactly cheap! So I took a look online.

There are so many brands to choose from: some brands that print straight from your Instagram, others may cost quite a lot to print.. Then I came across Cheerz.

Cheerz allows you to upload pictures from: your computer, Facebook, Instagram, Dropbox and other social networking sites which is very useful when all your pictures can be across a few networking sites! Their site is also very user friendly and so easy to use.

Once I had selected the 30 pictures it recommends, it then came up with a further offer of adding another 15 pictures for an extra 20p per print so you could either get 30 for £13.95 or 40 for £16.20.

Once my pictures arrived, I was so excited to open the box. I was so impressed with the quality of the pictures, the fact that none came back distorted or ruined. Picture perfection. Now, what to do with these pictures...

My friend recently told me she was ordering herself some polaroid pictures from a different website (see her blog post here) and she was going to put hers in a frame. Personally, I have no room in my bedroom for anymore frames. So I went in search of inspiration on Pinterest, as per usual! I came across so many different ways people had displayed their pictures, from hanging them on string to framing them and simply sticking them on their walls. Then I came across the heart collages, and they looked amazing. So many people had recreated this idea and I just had to try it.

Unfortunately, I'm no good as judging pictures in terms of how to organise and work out the layout. Luckily for me, I came across this template which helped me a lot:

This template helped me so much and the end result looks, if I'm completely honest, fantastic. I am so pleased with how the collage has turned out, and I would definitely encourage anyone who is looking for something to do with their old photos or polaroids to definitely recreate something like this - or maybe try out your own collage idea!

Back To School Haul Post

Hello there! Been a very long time since I've updated the good ol' blog thanks to lovely college deadlines and whatnot. Had lots going on in the time I've been away, including getting a new job (woo!) which is the main inspiration for this post, as well as a whole range of days out and about and holidays too. Life is good right now if I'm completely honest. So, let us begin..

As I have recently been offered a job within a primary school, I figured this was the perfect time for a spending spree. Seeing as I was in desperate need for some 'smart casual' clothing and some bits and bobs to use in the classroom, this was the perfect excuse.

1. The Elmer Tote Bag - Amazon £6.16

As I'll be in a primary school, I figured I needed one hell of a bag. Let's be honest, nothing beats a classic like Elmer the colourful elephant. I was drawn to this bag by the whole range of colours and the strength of the bag. Undecided what to use this for, whether it be a storage bag for my books or just a general bag, but I'm sure the children will love it!

2. Denim Shirt and Caitlyn Big Cat Cami - Fat Face £36 and £28

Now, I never really buy anything from Fat Face if I'm completely honest.. Being a student, I have a very limited budget and can't afford some of their clothes. However, whenever the bank of mum opens its doors for business, I instantly take advantage to have some of these amazing clothes.

3. Black Slim Leg Double Zip Ribbed Trousers - New Look £14.99

I am forever in need of black trousers. I have recently trashed yet another pair with holes and countless amounts of paint/glue stains, so I needed yet another pair of trouser. Me being me, I'm more of a skinny jeans kind of person so I tried to find a pair which were a similar shape to my skinny jeans. Thank you, New Look, for providing such a good alternative!

4. GLIS box with lids - IKEA £1.50

I won't lie, I love IKEA with a burning passion. You can't go wrong with cheap flatpack furniture, let's be honest. I picked up these storage boxes on my visit the other day as they are ideal to go on a child's desk to store things, such as pencils or a visual timetable. These will be perfect and so useful in the classroom!

Well that's all for now. Hopefully won't leave it too long for another post. Have a lovely day, guys!

2013 | The Review

Hey guys! So, another year is coming to an end as we get closer to the New Year and even closer to Christmas. Amazing how quickly this month has passed, yet I still haven't finished my Christmas shopping - not my most organised month!

With the new year in sight, I started thinking. So much has happened this year and I have learnt so many life lessons. But it's safe to say 2013 has been a very successful and, in a way, proud year for me. I've accomplished so much more than I thought I would and gone above and beyond my own expectations of myself which has been a real shock to me. Normally I'm kind of a negative nelly and figure that someone is always better. Well, this year I've proven otherwise for myself and proven I am capable of what I want to do!

What I've accomplished this year:
  • Got an A for my first year of Childcare
  • Passed my driving test first time
  • Went to my first festival
  • Chosen my career path
  • Discovered myself as a person

So, as well as accomplishments, I've learnt so many life lessons this year. Admittedly, I've learnt some of these lessons in a much harder way than others. Wish I hadn't, but hey ho - that's life. So here we go!

This years life lessons:
  • People will try and ruin your happiness, it's your job to prove them wrong
  • Money magically disappears - mine normally disappears in New Look!
  • Make yourself known and people will remember you
  • Some people will leave without a trace
  • It's your life, you make the rules and choose the paths
  • You can do anything you put your mind to
  • I can only trust a handful of people
  • Some so-called 'friends' aren't going to be there forever - it's your job to find people who are willing to stand by you
  • Friendships can be recovered, no matter how damaged
So yeah, I think this year has been insightful to say the least. Some events have been less appreciated which we won't go into, but I have learnt so much about me, myself and my life this year. Personally, I feel like my life is just beginning. Soon, I'll be out there in the real world. Working, living. Damn, that's scary.

Merry Christmas, guys! Have an amazing week and an epic New Year - see you on the other side :)
